Happy Easter With Ellie, Emma, and Kiley

Happy Easter everyone!! I hope you all are having a wonderful day. Today, since it is Easter some of my lovely friends Ellie, Emma and Kiley, and I all did a kind of Easter post together. Each of us wrote what Easter means to us and a few of our family's Easter traditions. I hope you all enjoy this post and have a lovely Easter day! :)

Shelby: Easter is a celebration of Jesus dying on the cross to take away our sins. Ever since I was little my Mom has always  told us the resurrection story on Easter. I never really thought much about the story much. I just thought it was a story from the Bible that my Mom would tell again and again. When I was either nine or ten years old (I can't really remember) my family and I were sitting in our living room watching a Christian music video. Towards the end of the video it showed a man on a cross. The man was covered in blood and was moaning. He was in absolute agony! When I seen that video I realized how much the Lord actually loved and cared for me. He sent his only son to die for me! Me! A horrible sinner! Jesus went through so much pain so that my sins could be forgiven.

When the video was over I ran to my room and cried. I got down on my knees and thanked the Lord for sending his son to die for me. The thought that he actually died for me was kind of overwhelming! But it felt good to know how much he cared. Every year when Easter comes around I think of that day. It reminds me of how much the Lord cares for all of us.

And that, my dear readers, it what Easter means to me! :)

Now I'm going to be talking about some of your Easter traditions.
Well, of course we always paint Easter eggs on the night before Easter, and ever year our family always makes a resurrection garden. I actually did a post last Easter on how to make one! You can go see the post here. And we always have Easter lunch with my grandparents and our aunt, and once in awhile we go to sunrise service. When we are all awake! ;P

Ellie: Why I love Easter is because it reminds me of God's great love. Not just towards me, but everyone. I just think about those people who whipped him and Judas who betrayed him. And everyone who put the thorns on his head and I say, "Wow God." Because he died for them. Even though they wanted him to be dead forever and despised him he died for them so that they could live. And everyday I hope I can love people like Jesus. And forgive people like him. I also love Easter because I know that someday he will be coming to take me home. And what a glorious day that will be. No sickness no more. No sin. And we can live forever with Jesus! I don't know how anybody wouldn't want to do that. He is so powerful that he rose! And not only today should be reminded of this but every single day! Thanks you Jesus for such a great love to me and everyone!

  4. Hiya Shelby!!! Lately I've been thinking about pen-paling some people from the blogger world ( I have no idea whether you like to write or not :P) and if your interested in writing letters, I'd really enjoy writing you :). We could know each other better by email, if you would like to ( micnjosh@comcast.net). And if you don't that's fine too.
Thanks a bunch and happy (late) Easter!
